On Tuesday, April 28, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), released it's fifth checkpoint update on Division II's national rankings ladder.
And the Ashland University track and field program has both the men and women back in it.
The Ashland men's team comes in at 20th, which a jump from the mid-30s from last week, while the women, who have been consistently ranked since the start of the year, dropped slightly down to 19th place in the list. The boost in reputation comes following the 16th Annual Ashland Alumni Open, which saw numerous provisional marks recorded by the Eagles this past weekend.
Now, with extra confidence in hand, the Eagles prepare for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships which are set to begin on Wednesday, April 29, running through Friday, May 1.Â
