On Tuesday, April 21, the newest NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Rankings were released, with Ashland University comes in at 17th. This is three spots lower than last week's ranking, but shows that the team is still one of the top programs in the nation.
The Eagles are also still the highest ranked program in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
This past weekend, athletes competed at the Otterbein Twilight and the Virginia Challenge, leaving with a good chunk of provisional marks. On the women's side,
Jade Avance and
Hope Sievert both recorded provisional times in the 800-meter run, while the four-some of
Brianna Chenevey,
Alexis Wims,
Hailey Rios and
Medgine Wojton all provo'd in the 4x100-meter relay. Chenevey then teamed up with
Olivia Saylor,
Jordan Rosales and Avance in the 4x400-meter relay, putting up a provisional mark of 3:45.55 there as well.
While it was a great weekend for the Eagles, they'll have to turn around quickly and prepare for the end of the 2026 outdoor season.
On Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, the Eagles will welcome in various teams for the 16th-annual Ashland Alumni Open. It will serve as the final meet before the G-MAC championships beginning next week.Â
