Provisional marks, provisional marks and even more provisional marks.
Each weekend, the Ashland University track and field team continues to add on more top placements in different events. This past weekend, specifically, while traveling to the John Homon Open, Tennessee Invite and Bison Outdoor Classic, the Eagles were able to find nine provisional marks from a good mix of running and field athletes.
On the track,
Brianna Chenevey posted a time of 24.08 in the 200-meter dash, while sprinters
Jon Lutz and
Ty Allen came in at clips of 13.93 and 14.13 in the 110-meter hurdles. On the distance side,
Daylen Madison came in at a time of 1:49.97 in the 800-meter and
Reese Landis' time of 35:24.41 in the 10k was also a provisional mark. The last provisional for the Eagles on the track was
Wes Taylor, who posted a time of 8:57.93 in the 3k steeple chase. His performance jumped him to sixth in the nation, all while setting a new school record.
Moving to the field events, three Eagles performed well enough for provisional marks.
Brayden Jackson jumped up to fourth in the nation with a 5.31 meter performance in the pole vault, while
Leslie Pollock's throw of 57.75 in the hammer throw moved her to sixth in the nation, and
Ayden Bidwell's toss of 57.36 in the hammer throw was one of his best this season.Â
The Eagles will next look to travel to the Otterbein Twilight in Westerville, Ohio, on Friday, April 17. Another group will travel that same day to the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
