Another weekend has come and gone.
And the Ashland University track and field team has found another strong set of provisional marks.
On Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, the Eagles sent two different groups out to compete. The first went to the Otterbein Twilight and the other traveled to Charlottesville, Va.
In total, 15 players recorded provisional marks.
In the women's 800-meter run, Jade Avance and Hope Sievert put up provisional times of 2:07.41 and 2:09.93, respectively. Avance's time puts her 12th in the nation. Following those two, Malachi Collier put up a time of 14.26 in the 110-meter hurdles.
Turning to the relay events, the Eagles once again saw impressive showings.
In the women's 4x100-meter relay, the team of Medgine Wojton, Brianna Chenevey, Alexis Wims and Hailey Rios put up a time of 46.05. In the women's 4x400-meter relay, Chenevey switched things up and teamed with Olivia Saylor, Jordan Rosales and Avance to put up a time of 3:43.55.
Moving into the field events, four athletes recorded provisional marks.
Jaycob Kolleda put up a 2.06 in the high jump, which launches him to 20th in the nation, while Hunter Long came in with a mark of 4.87 in the pole vault. In the hammer throw, Eagles Hayden Valenti and Ayden Bidwell put up throws of 59.95 and 59.34, respectively.
Up next, the Eagles will have a more relaxed weekend at home, competing in the Ashland Alumni Open. The meet will run from Friday, April 24, through Saturday, April 25.Â
