After the third and final round of the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday (April 23) in Owensboro, Ky., Ashland University's men's golf team finished in seventh place in the 13-team event.
The Eagles' final team score was 297-301-302—900. Kentucky Wesleyan (292-287-290—869) and Findlay (283-300-294—877) will play for the conference title on Wednesday (April 24) in head-to-head medal match play.
Ashland's top player on the week was fifth-year
Andrew Kolar, who tied for 13
th place individually at 72-76-72—220. During the tournament, Kolar recorded an eagle and five birdies.
Sophomore
Carter Mishler tied for 19
th (72-76-77—225) and had eight birdies for the Championship, while junior
Matthew McMullen tied for 21
st (77-71-78—226) and had nine birdies.
Fifth-year
Logan Thomas tied for 30
th (76-78-75—229, one eagle and six birdies), and sophomore
Scott Armstrong was 58
th (80-78-84—242, five birdies).
Conference medalist was Kentucky Wesleyan's Tyler Nickol (71-67-71—209).
