The second and final day of the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin in Farmington, Pa., was played on Tuesday (Oct. 21), and Ashland University's men's golf team finished in eighth place in the nine-team field.
Leading the Eagle effort was senior
Carter Mishler, who ended at 77-73-77—227 and with 10 birdies, and finished in a tie for 15
th place individually. Right behind was sophomore
Michael Fickle, who carded 79-73-76—228, had five birdies, and placed in a tie for 19
th.
Rounding out the AU showing were sophomore
Mark Pillar (tied for 28
th, 82-73-77—232, nine birdies), senior
Scott Armstrong (tied for 35
th, 77-80-79—236, six birdies), and sophomore
Shaun Mazzalupi (40
th, 81-81-76—238, five birdies).
Ashland's final team score was 314-299-306—919. Grand Valley State was the team champion at 290-279-284—853. Findlay was second (303-297-295—895), and Hillsdale third (310-296-297—903).
Charlie Cooley from GVSU was the individual medalist at 73-68-67—208.
