The first 36 holes of the UIndy Invitational were played on Monday (Sept. 25), and Ashland University's men's golf team finished Day 1 in 11
th place in the 16-team tournament.
Thanks to a team showing of 299-295—594, the Eagles have recorded five sub-300 team scores in seven rounds so far this fall.
NOTABLES
- Fifth-year Andrew Kolar finished the day in a tie for 24th place individually at 72-74—146. Kolar finished the day with five birdies.
- Sophomore Carter Mishler was next up in a tie for 32nd at 73-74—147, and with four birdies, and junior Matthew McMullen is tied for 43rd at 78-70—148, including six birdies in round No. 2 and seven overall.
- Fifth-year Logan Thomas is tied for 66th (76-77—153, two birdies), and sophomore Scott Armstrong is in 87th (92-81—173, one birdie).
- Grand Valley State leads the team standings through two rounds (284-279—563), followed by Ferris State (279-288—567) and Wayne State (284-288—572). There is a three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard - Grand Valley State's Drew Coble (71-67—138), Indianapolis' Simon Engman (71-67—138), and GVSU's Nick Krueger (68-70—138).
