Andrew Kolar earned one first on Tuesday (April 25), and set his team up for potentially another first on Wednesday (April 26).
Kolar earned medalist honors on Tuesday at the 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship, finishing the 54-hole portion of the tournament at 1-under par 77-69-69—215. Kolar, who had three birdies, 15 pars and no bogeys on Tuesday, is the first medalist in either the Great Midwest or the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference eras of AU men's golf.
His performance moved the Eagle men into second place at the end of the team phase of the Championship (306-293-287—886), and Ashland will play first-place Tiffin (290-294-296—880) on Wednesday in a head-to-head medal match play format for the conference title.
The Eagles will play for their first league title in either the Great Midwest or the GLIAC.
