The third and final round of the almost-entirely NCAA Division I Virtues Intercollegiate was played on Tuesday (Sept. 30) at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio, and Ashland University's men's golf team finished in ninth place in the 14-team field.
At 303-295-304—902, the Eagles ended up topping D-I foes Bowling Green, Evansville, Mercyhurst, Detroit Mercy and Canisius.
Notre Dame's B team took the title at 278-279-286—843, followed by Butler (283-291-281—855) and Loyola-Chicago (288-285-288—861).
Sophomore
Mark Pillar, coming off medalist honors at Ferris State's Midwest/Central Regional Preview Tournament on Sept. 15-16, tied for 18
th at the Virtues, ending at 76-69-74—219, and with nine birdies.
Senior
Scott Armstrong tied for 29
th at 73-77-72—222, and had four birdies in each of the three rounds, while sophomore
Shaun Mazzalupi was 46
th at 77-74-75—226 (three birdies in each of the three rounds).
Sophomore
Michael Fickle finished in 77
th (77-75-85—237, 10 birdies) while redshirt freshman
Julian Myers was 82
nd (78-85-83—246, one eagle, four birdies).
Earning individual medalist honors was Notre Dame's Pavel Tsar (66-66-71—203).
