Eagle Men End Tied For Ninth At Findlay Spring Invite

Following the third and final round on Tuesday (March 28) at the Findlay Spring Invitational at Lexington, Ky., Ashland University's men's golf team ended in a tie for ninth place in the 20-team field.
 
The Eagles' team score was 295-302-292—889. Missouri S&T won at 288-293-294—865, followed by McKendree at 286-287-294—867 and Tusculum at 287-291-291—869.
 
Freshman Carter Mishler led the Ashland effort in the tournament, finishing in a tie for 28th place individually. He carded 76-76-69—221, and had five birdies on Tuesday.
 
NOTABLES
  • Senior Andrew Kolar tied for 31st (70-75-77—222) and had three Tuesday birdies, while sophomore Matthew McMullen tied for 37th (74-74-75—223) and had a birdie on Tuesday.
  • Another senior, Logan Thomas, tied for 59th (75-77-75—227) and had three Tuesday birdies, and sophomore Tyler Gillespie tied for 90th (77-86-73—236) and had four birdies on Tuesday.
  • Individual medalist honors went to Missouri S&T's Carl Miltun, who was 10-under par at 70-70-66—206.
