Eagle Men Open Play At Findlay Spring Invite

Ashland Tied For 12th, Entire Field Couldn't Finish Due To Darkness

Ashland University's men's golf team played the first 36 holes at the Findlay Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky., on Monday (March 27), ending Day 1 in a tie for 12th in the 20-team field.
 
Seven of the 20 teams still were on the course when play was suspended due to darkness.
 
NOTABLES
  • The Eagles ended the day at 295-302—597. McKendree is the team leader through 36 holes (286-287—573), Tusculum is second five shots back with two holes left in Round 2, and Missouri S&T is third (288-292—580).
  • Senior Andrew Kolar finished the day tied for 14th individually at 70-75—145. Kolar had 11 birdies on the day, including seven in the second round.
  • Sophomore Matthew McMullen is tied for 33rd after two rounds (74-74—148), and he had six birdies on Monday. Freshman Carter Mishler (76-76—152, five birdies) and senior Logan Thomas (75-77—152, seven birdies) each are tied for 62nd, and sophomore Tyler Gillespie is tied for 97th (77-85—162, two birdies).
