Andrew Kolar is the No. 1 player for Ashland University's men's golf team.
And he's playing like it.
On Tuesday (April 5) at the second and final round of the Music City Invitational at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tenn., Kolar finished off a bogey-free 36 holes, and ended in a tie for fifth place individually at 5-under par 69-70—139.
Kolar, who is averaging a score 73.7 in 2021-22, has worked that down to 71.4 over the last five rounds.
WHAT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Eagles finished in a tie for sixth in the 13-team field (288-289—577). Tiffin won the tourney at 274-290—564, followed by host Trevecca Nazarene (287-279—566) and Lindenwood (282-288—570).
- Freshman Tyler Gillespie earned AU's second-best showing, placing in a tie for 21st place (70-75—145), and had a pair of birdies on Tuesday. Another rookie, Matthew Scheid, was tied for 27th at 73-73—146, and also had two birdies on the second and final round.
- Juniors Logan Thomas and Jake Amann each placed in a tie for 48th – Thomas at 78-72—150 and with three Tuesday birdies, and Amann at 76-74—150 and with four Tuesday birdies.
