Following the second and final day of the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational on Sunday (March 20) in Lexington, Ky., Ashland University's men's golf team ended the 19-team event in 11
th place.

The Eagles' weekend score was 312-310—622. Southern Indiana took the team medalist honor (298-290—588), followed by Findlay (295-294—589) and Tiffin (305-288—593).

WHAT HAPPENED
- Junior Andrew Kolar led the Eagle effort on the weekend, finishing in a tie for 37th individually at 75-78—153. Kolar had birdies on holes No. 1 and 18 on Sunday.
- Freshman Matthew Scheid tied for 52nd at 79-77—156 (one Sunday birdie), and fellow rookie Tyler Gillespie tied for 61st at 76-81—157 (one Sunday birdie).
- Junior Logan Thomas tied for 69th at 82-76—158, and his Sunday round included both an eagle and a birdie. Another junior, Jake Amann, tied for 100th at 84-79—163 (two Sunday birdies).
- Individual medalist was Wayne State's Sean Niles at 2-under-par 74-68—142.
