Eagle Men Open Spring At Findlay Invitational

Ashland University's men's golf team opened its 2018 spring schedule on Monday (March 26) at the Findlay Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky.

After 18 holes at the 23-team invite, the Eagles are in 16th place with a team score of 313. Indianapolis leads the team standings at 284, followed by Grand Valley State (291) and Maryville (293).

Picking up where he left off in the fall, junior Austin Kondratick was the Eagles' pacesetter. Kondratick is tied for 22nd place individually with a 2-over-par 74, which included three birdies.

Sophomore Patrick Steffen (tied for 62nd) carded a 78 and fired three birdies, senior Chandler Walnsch (tied for 82nd) finished with an 80, junior Cole Smith (tied for 91st) ended with an 81 and one birdie, and freshman Ben Jones (tied for 100th) went around the course in 82.

UP NEXT: The second and final day of the Findlay Spring Invitational on Tuesday (March 27).
