Eagle Men Play First Two Rounds At Ryman Memorial

The first 36 of 54 holes at Tiffin's Kyle Ryman Memorial were contested on Saturday (Sept. 30), with Ashland University's men's golf team ending the day 14th in the 21-team field.

With a total of 301-305—606, the Eagle men trail first-place Wayne State (291-288—579) by 27 shots. Bellarmine and Grand Valley State are tied for second, each with 581 scores after the first two rounds.

In his quest to finish every tournament in each of the last two fall schedules as Ashland's leader, junior Austin Kondratick carded 71-76—147 to end the first day in a tie for 24th individually. Kondratick racked up seven birdies on the day.

Freshman Hunter Lowder is tied for 42nd after a 75-75—150 day. Freshman Ben Jones is 77-77—154 and tied for 64th, senior Chandler Walnsch is 78-78—156 and tied for 78th and junior Frank Steffen is 88-77—165 and tied for 100th
