Ashland University's men's cross country team has opened the 2026 season in the No. 6 spot in the Midwest Region of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason regional rankings, released on Tuesday (Sept. 1) afternoon.
The Eagle men were ranked No. 5 in the region last season prior to the Midwest Region meet, and finished in sixth place there.
"Love the ranking for the men. Great place to start," said Eagle head coach
Jacob Sussman. "Definitely going to motivate them.
"The women are eager to show everyone why they belong in the rankings."
Ashland's men's and women's first meet of the fall will be Wright State's Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic at 6 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 4).
