Men’s Cross Country Remains At No. 5 In Regional Rankings After Conference Meet

Following the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, Ashland University's men's cross country team stayed in the No. 5 spot in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Regional rankings, released on Tuesday (Oct. 28) afternoon.

The Eagle men finished in second place at the conference meet – their highest placement at a Great Midwest race.

Three of Ashland's men finished as all-conference performers. Senior Nate Slater (fourth, PR of 24:23.6) and sophomore Wes Taylor (sixth, 24:30.9) were first-teamers, and senior Braeden Geist (13th, 24:48.9) was a second-teamer. Slater's placement is the highest individually for any Eagle in G-MAC competition.

So far in 2025, Ashland's men have finished in fifth place at Wright State, second at the All-Ohio Classic at Cedarville, third at the Lock Haven Invitational, first at Carnegie Mellon, and second at the conference meet.

The Eagle men and women will run at the 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional meet in Kenosha, Wis., on Nov. 8.
