The 2026 postseason is nearly at hand, and Ashland University's wrestling team will go into the Super Region III championships as the No. 16-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
On Thursday (Feb. 19) afternoon, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released its latest D-II team and individual rankings. Within those, four Eagle grapplers are ranked in the top 10 in the country at their respective weight classes:
- Junior Peyton Lemon (25-5 record, one pin, six technical falls, four major decisions) is in the No. 6 spot at 197 pounds.
- Fellow junior Hayden Kuhn (25-3, six pins, 10 tech falls, three major decisions) is the No. 7-ranked 149-pounder in D-II.
- Senior Sevriano Garza (18-3, two pins, two tech falls, four major decisions) is slotted at No. 9 at 174 pounds.
- Senior Wyatt Bailey (31-10, 16 pins, three tech falls, two major decisions) also is at No. 9 at 285 pounds.
