The Ashland University wrestling team, fresh off a Great Midwest Athletic Conference crown, earned another dose of respect.
On Thursday, March 26, it was officially announced that the Eagles had been lauded with an individual athlete award, three All-Conference First Team selections and two All-Conference second team honors.
After a dominant freshman campaign, 184-pounder Fletcher Rose was named G-MAC Freshman of the Year with an impressive first season of collegiate grappling.
Following Rose, first-team selections were given to Hayden Kuhn at 149 pounds, Peyton Lemon at 197 pounds and Wyatt Bailey at 285 pounds.
In second-team honors, 165-pounder Nate Barrett and 174-pounder Sevi Garza added on recognition for Ashland.
With individual conference honors coming in following the 2025-26 campaign, Ashland will look to take this extra boost of confidence into the offseason. The Eagles will look to replicate their performance in the G-MAC Championships, while also striving to continue sending grapplers to the national stage.Â
