Ashland University's men's cross country team is soaring this fall, and that continued on Saturday (Sept. 27) morning at the Lock Haven Invitational.
The Eagle men's team, ranked No. 8 in the Midwest Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this past week – and ranked regionally for the first time in nine years – backed up that ranking on Saturday. In the men's "Crimson" 8K race, Ashland finished in third place in the 22-team field, ending with 80 team points. Charleston was first (71 points), and Walsh second (79).
Senior
Nate Slater took fourth place in a PR time of 24:25, and sophomore
Wes Taylor was right behind in fifth with a PR time of 24:28.5. Ashland had three finishers in the top eight, as senior
Braeden Geist crossed eighth in his PR showing of 24:37.6.

On the women's side, the "Crimson" 6K race ended with Ashland in sixth among the 21 teams with 160 team points. Walsh was first with 28 points, followed by Davis & Elkins (66) and Slippery Rock (117).

st-place effort of a PR of 22:24.1, while graduate
Emilie Lemon was 27
th in 22:37.7.
