It was a banner night for Ashland University's cross country teams on Friday (Sept. 19) at the annual All-Ohio Inter-Collegiate Challenge at Cedarville.
The Eagle men took second place in the 8K race, and boasted three of the top seven individuals. The AU women finished in fifth as a team in that 6K. Both races featured 20 full teams.
On the men's side, sophomore
Wes Taylor, in just his second race at AU, paced the Eagles by finishing third in 24:47.8. Senior
Braeden Geist blistered his previous collegiate 8K PR and was fifth in 24:48.5, while fellow senior
Nate Slater came in seventh with his own 8K PR of 24.53.4.
Rounding out the Ashland men's top seven runners were fifth-year

th, 25:23.6, PR), senior
Michael Snopik (48
th, 25:51.0, PR), sophomore
Samuel Thomas (50
th, 25:54.2) and junior

th, 26:01.8, PR).
Cedarville's men won the team title with 65 points, Ashland was second with 75, and Malone was third with 115.

Ava Parrett continues the strong start to her Eagle career, leading the AU pack by crossing the finish line in 25
th at 23:01.2. Junior
Molly Coleman shaved nearly a minute off her previous 6K PR, ending in 23:04.2 and in 27
th.

Cedarville also won the women's race (20 team points), followed by John Carroll (122), Ohio Wesleyan (123), Kent State (151) and Ashland (202).
