Hunter Allen became a Baltimore Oriole.

In the seventh round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft on Monday, the Orioles took Allen with the 214
th overall pick. In terms of both round and overall pick, Allen is the third-highest Eagle chosen all-time in the MLB draft, behind only
Ken Kravec (third round, No. 69 overall in 1973) and
Randy Fierbaugh (fifth round, No. 105 overall in 1974).

During the 2025 season, Allen finished at 7-1 with a 3.96 earned-run average, striking out 84 in 61 1/3 innings, and allowing opponents to hit .213. Allen was named second-team All-Midwest Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), as well as a first-team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference selection.

In a five-start stretch from March 22-April 18, Allen went 5-0 over 28 innings, struck out 46 and walked 18, and yielded just three runs (0.96 ERA) and 11 hits.

Allen spent two seasons (2024-25) as an Eagle following two campaigns (2022-23) at Owens Community College.

He becomes the ninth Ashland College/University baseball player to be selected in a Major League Baseball draft.

Ashland ended its 2025 season at 37-19 overall and 24-8 in the Great Midwest. The Eagles played in both the Great Midwest and Midwest Regional tournaments.
