Ashland University's women's tennis team played host to the first day of its Ashland University Women's Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 4) at the Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex and Brookside Park, and the Eagles came away with strong showings.
Senior
Constanza Arancibia picked up three wins on Saturday, taking singles matches by 8-6 and 8-5 counts and teaming up with fellow senior
Ana Penteado for an 8-4 victory in the first round of doubles.
Also in Round 2 singles, senior
Anna Corbel took an 8-3 decision, sophomore
Maria Jemio won 8-5, junior
Evalienna Pryor was an 8-1 winner, and junior
Brittany Witsken took an 8-3 decision.
The third round (singles) saw Penteado win 8-7 (8-6).
The tournament also features the women's tennis teams from Case Western Reserve, John Carroll and Oberlin.
