AU Wrestling Chosen Second In 2025-26 G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Ashland University's wrestling team has won four Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships in five tries.
 
The league head coaches are split on whether the Eagles will make it five out of six, as the 2025-26 Great Midwest preseason coaches poll has AU picked second, and with three of seven first-place votes.
 
Ashland has 38 voting points, just behind preseason favorite Tiffin (40 voting points, three first-place votes). Findlay is third with 34 voting points and one first-place vote.
 
The Eagles return seven of eight 2025 NCAA Division II Championships qualifiers this winter:

• Junior 125-pounder Luke Acuna.
• Sophomore 141-pounder Brock Durbin.
• Junior 149-pounder Hayden Kuhn.
• Sophomore 157-pounder Lance Overmyer.
• Senior 165-pounder Nate Barrett.
• Senior 174-pounder Sevriano Garza.
• Senior 285-pounder Wyatt Bailey.

Ashland's new season will begin on Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. at the Glenville State Open.
