A team score of 302 put Ashland University's women's golf team in second place after the first round of Ohio Dominican's 14-team NC4K College Classic on Monday (April 8).
The Eagles are six shots behind first-round leader Indianapolis (296), and six strokes ahead of third-place Saginaw Valley State (308).
Freshman
Riley McKenzie paced the AU showing on Monday, tying for third place individually with a round of 73. McKenzie collected five birdies in the first 18 holes.
Following close behind was sophomore
Klaira Paramore, who is tied for seventh after carding a 75 with three birdies. In her last four rounds, Paramore has scores of 72, 74, 73 and 75.
Both junior
Grace Grant (two birdies) and freshman
LeeAnn Harker (one birdie) fired 77s on Monday, and are tied for 13
th. Finishing the Ashland effort were junior
Emma Conway (tied for 40
th, 83) and senior
Mailiis Simovart (tied for 50
th, 86, one birdie).
