Purple Women’s Golf Team Wins Home Tri-Match, Lawson Earns Medalist

On Saturday (April 6) at the Ashland Golf Club, Ashland University's Purple women's golf team defeated both Malone's and Tiffin's B teams in a home tri-match.
 
The Eagles turned in a team score of 351 on Saturday – 16 strokes better than the Pioneers (367), and 74 shots better than the Dragons (425).
 
Senior Paige Lawson was the match medalist on Saturday, ending the day with a round of 83, including a 38 on the back nine.
 
Junior Alyson Veverka was runner-up with an 84, and senior Maddy Klinger's 85 was good for third place. Rounding out the Ashland day were sophomore Alaina Kathrein (99) and junior Sophia Rogowski (103).
 
UP NEXT
The Ashland varsity women's golf team will play on Monday and Tuesday (April 8-9) at the NC4K Classic, hosted by Ohio Dominican.
