After finishing in fifth and sixth place, respectively, to begin its tenure in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Ashland University's women's golf team will have a chance to finish at the top in 2024.
The Eagles completed the 54-hole leaderboard portion of the 2024 Great Midwest Championship on Friday (April 26), and they finished an emphatic second in the 10-team field to move on to Saturday's (April 27) head-to-head medal match play final vs. Findlay at 9:30 a.m. Eastern/8:30 a.m. Central.
At 296-297-288—881, the Oilers finished first after three rounds, and Ashland earned the second medal match play spot by taking second place at 313-304-309—926. The Eagles finished 30 strokes ahead of third-place Ohio Dominican (324-319-313—956.
Individually, freshman
LeeAnn Harker finished a strong 54 holes by tying for eighth at 74-79-78—231. Harker has seven birdies so far on the week. Junior
Grace Grant also tied for eighth after carding 79-75-78—232 and picking up four birdies.
Both Harker and Grant earned first-team All-Great Midwest honors by virtue of their finishes on Friday.
Rounding out Ashland's three players in the top 10 individually was freshman
Riley McKenzie (82-74-77—233, six birdies), who tied for 10
th in her first conference action.

Klaira Paramore and junior
Emma Conway tied for 17
th. Paramore's scores improved as the rounds progressed (84-79-75—238, nine birdies), and Conway (78-76-84—238) recorded four birdies.
