During the 2023-24 season, Ashland University's wrestling team saw its share of success on the mat, winning a third Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship and sending five grapplers to NCAA Division II nationals.

The Eagles also have had a successful season in the classroom as well, as the team is No. 16 on the 2024 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Top 25 Scholar All-America Teams list. In addition, five AU wrestlers have earned 2024 NWCA Division II Scholar All-American status.

Ashland as a team has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.258.
- Sophomore Nate Barrett had a 3.60 cumulative GPA as a Dietetics major through the 2023 fall semester. Barrett was a national qualifier and a Great Midwest champion at 174 pounds, finishing with a 23-9 record.
- Graduate Daniel Beemer had a 3.67 grad GPA in the MBA program through the fall of 2023. Beemer also was a national qualifier and a conference champion at 184 pounds, and ended the season at 16-3.
- Sophomore Zander Graham sported a 3.82 cumulative GPA as an Intervention Specialist major through the fall of 2023. He was 7-14 in 2023-24.
- Freshman Hayden Kuhn had a cumulative GPA of 3.80 cumulative GPA as an Exercise Science major through fall 2023. He was 21-15 last season, ranking in a tie for third on the team in wins.
- Graduate Drew Wiechers' grad GPA through fall 2023 was 3.78 in the MBA program. Wiechers qualified for nationals at 157 pounds, and ended the season at 21-7.
According to the NWCA, in order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American Team, he must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and a 3.0 for those who were All-Americans at 2024 nationals. Wrestlers must have competed in four dates of competition.
