The Ashland University women's golf team not only won the Klash In Kentucky following the second and final day of play on Sunday (March 24), but the Eagles did so in dominant fashion.
Ashland's two-day total of 309-306—615 was 29 shots better than second-place Northern Michigan (332-312—644), and 30 shots better than third-place Pikeville (327-318—645).
The team win was the Eagles' second of 2023-24, after tying for first in their own Eagle Invitational in September.
And not only did the Eagles win as a team down south, but sophomore
Klaira Paramore was the tournament medalist. Paramore ended the weekend at 74-73—147, and won the event by five strokes.
Also placing in the top five individually for AU were a pair of freshmen –
LeeAnn Harker in fourth (78-77—155), and
Riley McKenzie in fifth (80-77—157).
Ashland's team effort was rounded out by juniors
Grace Grant (77-82—159) and
Emma Conway (80-79—159), and senior
Mailiis Simovart (81-81—162).
