The first 18 holes of the Emerald Coast Collegiate tournament, hosted by Missouri-St. Louis, was played on Sunday (March 10) in Florida, and Ashland University's women's golf team finished Day 1 in a tie for 14
th place in the 17-team field.
Ashland ended with a team score of 321. Flagler is in first place with a team score of 290, followed by Central Missouri (297) and St. Mary's, Texas (302).
The top Eagle on Sunday was the team's individual player – freshman
Riley McKenzie, who is tied for 12
th place individually with a first-round 74 and four birdies.
Junior
Grace Grant led the team performers with a 77 and one birdie, and is tied for 30
th, while both sophomore
Klaira Paramore and junior
Emma Conway each fired an 81 with two birdies and are tied for 58
th place.
Rounding out the day were freshman
LeeAnn Harker (82, tied for 68
th) and senior
Mailiis Simovart (85, tied for 83
rd).
