The first round of the Champions of Women's Golf tournament, hosted by Ohio Dominican, was played on Saturday (Sept. 16), with Ashland University slotted in ninth place in the 14-team tournament through 18 holes.
NOTABLES
- Ashland was paced on Saturday by sophomore Klaira Paramore and junior Grace Grant, both of whom carding 78s and finishing the first day in a tie for 20th place. Grant recorded three birdies on Saturday, and Paramore one.
- Right behind was junior Emma Conway, whose 79 left her in a tie for 27th place.
- Both senior Mailiis Simovart and freshman Riley McKenzie (one birdie) had 82s and are tied for 44th, while freshman LeeAnn Harker had an 84 and is tied for 57th.
- As a team, Ashland had a score of 317. Gannon (299) is the first-round leader, the host Panthers are second (301), and Walsh is third (304).
