Box Score A four-run bottom of the seventh inning propelled Lewis' baseball team to a 6-4 win over Ashland University in Florida on Thursday (March 9).
The Eagles are 7-3, while the Flyers are 6-5.
All four of Ashland's runs on Thursday came in the top of the fifth. Sophomore center fielder
Cam Miller brought a run in with a groundout, fifth-year right fielder
Seth Schroeder added a two-run single, and Schroeder then scored run No. 4 on a steal of home.
NOTABLES
- Schroeder was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, Miller was 2-for-5 with an RBI, and sophomore second baseman Ian Sanders finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
- Sophomore left-hander Brendan Beaver, the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference North Division Pitcher of the Week, started and struck out seven over six innings, allowing 10 hits, two runs and a walk. Sophomore righty Cal Johnston (0-1) took the relief loss, allowing two runs and two hits and striking out one in a third of an inning.
