Box Score On Sunday (March 5) night in Florida, Ashland University's baseball team improved to 5-1 following a 5-1 win over California, Pa. (5-2).
The Eagles opened Sunday's game with a run in the top of the first, then added single runs in the second and fourth, and two more in the top of the eighth. The Vulcans' run came in the bottom of the ninth.
NOTABLES
- Fifth-year third baseman Seth Schroeder went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, sophomore first baseman Sam Witt was 2-for-4 with an RBI, sophomore shortstop Jeremiah Cangelosi was 2-for-4, and sophomore left fielder Max Caron went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored and an RBI.
- Sophomore right-hander Cam Scott (1-0) earned the win after going the last five innings, and allowing three hits, a run and four walks and striking out five.
