STUNT Splits In Michigan, Beats D-I Program For First Time

Yes, Ashland University's STUNT team took its first loss of 2023 on Sunday (Feb. 23), but the Eagles' win later in the day was much more noteworthy.
 
The Eagles (5-1) lost 24-2 to Davenport, but came back to the mats for the program's first win against an NCAA Division I opponent, Central Michigan, 14-13.
 
NOTABLES
  • In the victory over the Chippewas, junior flyer/tumbler Lily Boldman led the way with 41 points, and got help from sophomore flyer/tumbler Alyssa McLaughlin (36 points), and junior back/base Ashley Amstutz and sophomore flyer/base/tumbler Chloe Colvin (33 points each).
  • Ashland led Central Michigan after the first (3-1), second (6-3) and third (8-6) quarters.
 
UP NEXT
The Eagles will go to Lexington, Ky., on Saturday (March 4) to take on Michigan State at 1 p.m. and Kentucky at 2 p.m.
