Women’s Golf Tied For Sixth Following Panther Invite First Round

Ashland University's women's golf team is in a tie for sixth place following the first 18 holes of the 12-team Davenport Panther Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 14).
 
The Eagles' team score on Day 1 was 324. Wayne State is the clubhouse leader after the first round at 307, followed by Ohio Dominican (313) and Drury (319).
 
NOTABLES
  • Junior Grace Grant is the top Eagle after the first 18, carding a 77, ending in a tie for fifth place individually, and firing a birdie on hole No. 14. Freshman LeeAnn Harker also ended Day 1 in the top 10, as she is tied for ninth after a round of 79 and a birdie on 18.
  • Rounding out the AU team effort on Saturday were junior Emma Conway and freshman Riley McKenzie with matching 84s and ending in a tie for 39th, and sophomore Klaira Paramore, who is tied for 49th after a round of 86.
  • Playing as an individual on Saturday was senior Mailiis Simovart, who is tied for 24th with an 81. Simovart birdied No 2 and 16.
