Cross Country Teams Run At Lock Haven Invitational, Men Finish 10th

On Saturday (Sept. 24) morning, Ashland University's men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Lock Haven Invitational.
           
WHAT HAPPENED

• The Eagle men finished in 10^th place in the 34-team field for their 8K race (294 team points). Cornell won the team title with 20 points, followed by Wayne State (48) and Dickinson third (137).
• Pacing the AU men on Saturday was sophomore Colton Pinkerton, whose PR of 25:28.7 was good for a 31^st-place individual placement. Junior Konnor Ray was 71^st in 26:31.1, and freshman Braeden Geist turned in a PR of 26:49.6, finishing in 86^th.
• Rounding out the Ashland top five were senior Nick Ponzi (89^th, 26:51.9) and freshman Michael Snopik (94^th, 26:55.2).
• On the women's side, Ashland finished the 6K race in 27^th out of 34 teams (712 team points). Cornell was the top team on this side, as well, with 37 points, followed again by Wayne State (67), with Seton Hill in third (116).
• Senior Emma Hinkle led the AU women's contingent with a 24:23.8 finish (143^rd). The remainder of the Eagle top five were running in their first 6K at AU – freshman Brenna Heinzerling (155^th, 24:34.3), sophomore Emilie Lemon (166^th, 24:47.7), freshman Analeise Artino (173^rd, 24:54.8) and freshman Haley Heitz (181^st, 25:03.4).
