Concluding the next-to-last tournament prior to the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, Ashland University's women's golf team on Tuesday (April 5) ended in fifth place in the 19-team field – the Eagles' best team finish in a tourney this spring.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland was 327-319—641 over the two-day event. Findlay was the team medalist (301-288—589), followed by Indianapolis (313-301—614) and Tiffin (313-301—614).
- Freshman Samantha Webb was the Eagle women's pacesetter, finishing in a tie for 10th place at 80-75—155, and recording three birdies on Tuesday. Sophomore Mailiis Simovart followed in a tie for 18th at 76-73—159, and with one birdie on Tuesday.
- Another rookie, Grace Grant, was 38th at 83-82—165, and with one Tuesday birdie; senior Sophia Lowe was tied for 52nd at 92-79—171; and freshman Emma Conway was tied for 67th at 88-87—175.

Ashland's regular-season finale will be Monday and Tuesday (April 11-12) at Walsh's Cav Classic. The 2022 Great Midwest Championships are April 18-19 in Lexington, Ky.
