Kinsley, Fairbanks Improve Provisional Hammer Marks To Begin Alumni Open

On Day 1 of the 2022 Ashland Alumni Open on Friday (April 29), a pair of Ashland University hammer throwers improved their provisional marks for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, May 26-28 in Allendale, Mich.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• Freshman Kelsey Kinsley finished in third place in the women's hammer throw invite at 57.04 meters/187-feet-1, moving her into the Top 12 in NCAA Division II this spring.
• Senior Brent Fairbanks was sixth in the men's hammer throw invite on Friday at 61.82 meters/202-feet-10, good for a spot in the Top 8 in the country heading into the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships (May 4-6 in Owensboro, Ky.).
