Miller Goes For Season Best In 400 Hurdles At OSU

Senior Rachel Miller improved upon her previous season-best and nationals provisional mark in the women's 400-meter hurdles on Friday (April 22) at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic – and moved up to become one of the nation's best this season in the process.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• Miller's second-place showing in 59.66 seconds improved her provisional mark for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, May 26-28 in Allendale, Mich. That mark also moves Miller into the No. 3 spot in the country.
• At the Otterbein Twilight, Ashland went 1-2-3 in the men's hammer throw (senior Brent Fairbanks first, 59.91 meters/196-feet-6; senior Nate Stout second, 55.56 meters/182-feet-3; freshman Brock Janowicz third, 49.95 meters/163-feet-10), and 1-2-3 in the women's hammer throw (freshman Kelsey Kinsley first, 52.69 meters/172-feet-10; freshman Kaylyn Barnette second, 46.95 meters/154-feet-0; sophomore Kira Tavanello third, 46.56 meters/152-feet-9).
• Also at Otterbein, Stout won the men's shot put at 16.51 meters/54-feet-2.
• On Saturday at OSU, two more provos were earned - sophomore Noah Koch in the men's shot put (17.00 meters/55-feet-9 1/4), and the men's 4x400 relay team, which finished third in 3:11.26.
