For the first time, Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams played host to the Northeast Ohio Tri (formerly the Northeast Ohio Quad) on Saturday (April 2) at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex.

Four Eagles earned new or improved provisional marks for 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, May 26-28 in Allendale, Mich.

Trevor Bassitt in the men's 400-meter hurdles in 49.74 seconds – now the top time in D-II.
- Sophomore
Noah Koch in the men's discus throw at 54.52 meters/178-feet-10 – moving him into the No. 3 spot in the country.
- Senior
Rachel Miller in the women's 400 hurdles in 1:01.15.
- Junior
Erin Sievers in the women's pole vault at 3.75 meters/12-feet-3½.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland's men finished second (97 team points) to Akron (144), with Kent State third (72). On the women's side, Akron won with 143 points, followed by Kent State (107) and Ashland (100).
- In addition to Bassitt and Koch, Eagle winning efforts on Saturday came from senior Aaron Banks in the men's 100 dash (10.60 seconds) and 200 dash (22.02 seconds), senior Jake Hall in the men's 3,000 run (8:42.42), and senior Carrol Pauley in the women's hammer throw (54.83 meters/179-feet-10).
- SECOND PLACE – Miller, freshman Kelsey Kinsley in the women's hammer throw (52.61 meters/172-feet-7), senior Tim Rumas in the men's 200 dash (22.02 seconds), freshman Caden Morris in the men's long jump (6.93 meters/22-feet-9), senior Cheyanne Davis in the women's 400 dash (56.18 seconds), Koch in the men's shot put (16.09 meters/52-feet-9½), senior Storm Elsesser in the men's high jump (1.95 meters/6-feet-4¾), junior Morgan Dennis in the women's 100 dash (12.20 seconds) and 200 dash (25.51 seconds), and the women's 400 relay of Davis, Dennis, Miller and sophomore Alena Williams (46.77 seconds).
- THIRD PLACE – Sievers and freshman Sarah Masuoka in the women's pole vault, senior Cameron Shifflet in the men's 400 hurdles (54.64 seconds), senior Ryan Rager in the men's 200 dash (22.40 seconds), Williams in the women's 100 dash (12.20 seconds), sophomore Emma Liberatore in the women's long jump (5.14 meters/16-feet-10½), sophomore McKenna Woodruff in the women's 800 run (2:16.70), junior Ethan Tabor and senior Travis Moore in the men's high jump (1.85 meters/6-feet-0¾), the men's 4x400 relay team of freshmen Colin Roberts and D.J. Duncan, junior Nick Ponzi and Hall (3:27.15), and the women's 4x400 relay team of freshmen Abby Below and Jordan Hampton, sophomore Peyton Perini and senior Abby Moser (4:09.25).
