Eagle Women Third After First 36 Holes At Great Midwest Championship

Following the first two rounds of the 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship on Monday (April 18) in Lexington, Ky., Ashland University's women's golf team is slotted in third place in the nine-team field.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles ended Day 1 at 338-329—667, but the two team pacesetters were Findlay (294-304—598) and Tiffin (313-319—632).
  • Freshman Emma Conway led the Ashland effort on Monday, ending in 12th place individually at 82-80—162, and with two birdies, both on hole No. 2. Another rookie, Samantha Webb, was right behind in a tie for 16th at 86-81—167 and with four birdies on the day.
  • Yet another freshman, Grace Grant, is tied for 23rd at 89-82—171, and with one birdie; senior Sophia Lowe is tied for 28th at 81-92—173, and with one birdie; and sophomore Mailiis Simovart is tied for 32nd at 91-86—177.
 
UP NEXT
The second and final day of the 2022 Great Midwest Championship on Tuesday (April 19). After the third and final round, the top two teams will advance to medal match play to determine the league winner.
