Eagle Men, Women Add To Nationals Marks At Tiffin

On Friday (April 15) at the Tiffin Carnival, Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams added to their season nationals marks total in impressive fashion.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • Those improving upon their previous provisional marks for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, May 26-28 in Allendale, Mich., were the winning men's 4x100-meter relay team (40.21 seconds), senior Nate Stout in the men's hammer throw (seventh place, 58.00 meters/190-feet-3), and senior Carrol Pauley in the women's hammer throw (first place, 57.00 meters/187-feet-0).
  • New provos were earned by senior Channing Phillips in the men's 400 dash (first place, 47.29 seconds), senior Aaron Banks in the men's 100 dash (fourth place, 10.55 seconds), and senior Brent Fairbanks in the men's hammer throw (fifth place, 60.03 meters/196-feet-11).
  • FIRST PLACE – Sophomore Doniven Jackson in the men's 100 dash (10.46 seconds), senior Keshun Jones in the men's 200 dash (21.32 seconds), senior Cheyanne Davis in the women's 400 dash (56.19 seconds), senior Rachel Miller in the women's 400 hurdles (1:01.26), and the women's 4x100 relay (47.43 seconds).
  • SECOND PLACE – Jackson in the men's 200 dash (21.41 seconds), senior Cameron Shifflet in the men's 400 hurdles (54.74 seconds), the men's 4x400 relay (3:18.07), freshman Caden Morris in the men's long jump (6.94 meters/22-feet-9ÂĽ), sophomore Noah Koch in the men's shot put (16.48 meters/54-feet-1), freshman Mia Gardner in the women's 400 dash (57.38 seconds), and the women's 4x400 relay (4:14.55).
  • THIRD PLACE – Banks in the men's 400 dash (21.41 seconds), sophomore Trent Kauffman in the men's pole vault (4.52 meters/14-feet-10), Stout in the men's shot put (16.25 meters/53-feet-3Âľ), Koch in the men's discus (52.41 meters/171-feet-11), and freshman Kelsey Kinsley in the women's hammer throw (54.64 meters/179-feet-3).
  • Senior Trevor Bassitt, on Saturday (April 16) at the 62nd Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. not only won the men's 400 hurdles in 49.15 seconds, but that time is the 10th-fastest in the event in NCAA Division II history.
  • On Saturday at Tiffin, junior Allie Holmes took third in the women's javelin throw at 29.70 meters/97-feet-5.
