AU Women Place Eighth At Cav Classic

Following the second and final round at Walsh's Cav Classic on Tuesday (April 12), Ashland University's women's golf team finished in eighth place in the 15-team field.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles ended the tournament at 324-323—647. Findlay was the team medalist (304-302—606), Tiffin was second (314-300—614), and Grand Valley State finished third (305-311—616).
  • Freshman Grace Grant was the AU pacesetter in Canton, finishing in a tie for 13th place at 79-75—154. Grant had three birdies in a five-hole span on Tuesday.
  • Another rookie, Samantha Webb, tied for 36th at 81-83—164 and had two birdies on the second round. And yet another frosh, Emma Conway, tied for 41st at 81-84—165.
  • Sophomore Mailiis Simovart tied for 49th (83-87—170), while senior Sophia Lowe tied for 53rd (90-81—171, one Tuesday birdie).
  • Eagles playing as individuals were sophomore Maddy Klinger (tied for 72nd, 88-89—177) and freshman Alyson Veverka (tied for 78th, 96-83—179).
