Continuing its Spring Break trip at Hilton Head Island, S.C., Ashland University's women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Davis & Elkins on Tuesday (March 8) afternoon.
The Eagles' 2021-22 record improves to 2-4, while the Senators are 1-2.
"I am very, very happy with how everyone played in singles," said Ashland director of tennis operations
Tim Dunford, "and very impressed with the comeback at No. 3 doubles."
WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland swept all six singles matches on Tuesday – senior Gabriella Hudec at No. 1 (3-6, 6-2, 10-4), sophomore Kortney Reed at No. 2 (6-3, 6-2), senior Huntyr Lake at No. 3 (6-3, 6-3), freshman Claudia Adcock at No. 4 (6-3, 6-4), freshman Alice Adin at No. 5 (6-0, 6-4), and freshman Meredith Fitch at No. 6 (8-2).
- The Eagles' lone doubles win came from the No. 3 duo of Adin and Fitch.
UP NEXT
Ashland's women will continue play in South Carolina on Friday (March 11) at 11:30 a.m. vs. Lake Superior State.
