Following the second day of the three-day Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff on Friday (March 11) at Wesley Chapel, Fla., Ashland University's women's golf team maintained its spot in sixth place in the 14-team field.
The Eagles are 327-318—645 after two rounds. Keiser University still leads the field at 299-306—605, followed by Tiffin (305-301—606), Walsh (315-318—633), Northwood (322-315—637), and St. Thomas, Fla. (312-326—638).
WHAT HAPPENED
- Freshman Emma Conway shattered her previous career low by firing a second-round 72, which included four birdies. Conway's two-day total of 80-72—152 is tied for sixth place going into the third and final day of Saturday (March 12).
- Sophomore Mailiis Simovart is tied for 17th at 81-77, following her second straight day of a career-low round. Simovart had two birdies on Friday.
- Freshmen Samantha Webb (88-82—170, one birdie on Friday) and Grace Grant (82-88—170, one birdie on Friday) are tied for 42nd, while senior Sophia Lowe is tied for 48th at 84-87—171 (back-to-back birdies on Friday).
- Playing as an individual is sophomore Maddy Klinger (tied for 62nd, 96-88—184).
