In their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, Ashland University's men's indoor track and field team finished in second place, while the Eagle women finished in fourth.

With competition ending on Saturday (Feb. 26), Ashland's men finished with 144 team points, 4.5 behind first-place and host Findlay. Tiffin finished third with 132.5 points. On the women's side, Ashland had 91.5 team points, trailing Findlay (140), Hillsdale (118.5) and Cedarville (113).

WHAT HAPPENED
- Eagles earned five Great Midwest titles on Saturday. Senior Rachel Miller took the women's 400-meter dash in 56.49 seconds, and Miller joined senior Cheyanne Davis, junior Macy Creamer and freshman Mia Gardner to win the 4x400 relay in 3:51.15.
- On the men's side, championships came from senior Travis Moore in the heptathlon (4,982 points), senior Nate Stout in the shot put (17.11 meters/56-feet-1¾), and senior Aaron Banks in the 200 dash (22.02 seconds).
- Men's second-place finishes were earned by sophomore Wyatt Cory in the heptathlon (4,852 points, new nationals provisional mark), sophomore Noah Koch in the shot put (17.08 meters/56-feet-0½, new nationals provisional mark), sophomore Doniven Jackson in the 60 dash (6.75 seconds), and senior Ryan Rager in the 400 dash (49.20 seconds).
- Sophomore Alena Williams was second in the women's 60 dash (7.67 seconds), and freshman Sydney Koker was second in the women's high jump (1.68 meters/5-feet-6).
- Taking thirds were senior Cameron Shifflet in the men's heptathlon (4,667 points), Banks in the men's 60 dash (6.82 seconds), and Gardner in the women's 400 dash (57.69 seconds).
- FOURTH PLACE – Sophomore Cole LaRoche in the men's shot put (16.00 meters/52-feet-6), senior Storm Elsesser in the men's high jump (2.02 meters/6-feet-7½), senior Jake Hall in the men's mile run (4:15.03), and the men's 4x400 relay team of Rager and freshmen Noah Wood, Colin Roberts and Ethan Schuster (3:28.97).
- FIFTH PLACE – Wood in the men's 200 dash (22.47 seconds), junior Morgan Dennis in the women's 60 dash (7.76 seconds), and freshman Kelsey Kinsley in the women's shot put (13.93 meters/45-feet-8½, new nationals provisional mark),
- SIXTH PLACE – Wood in the men's 400 dash (50.22 seconds), freshman D.J. Duncan in the men's 60 hurdles (8.45 seconds), Williams in the women's 200 dash (25.73 seconds), and freshman Sarah Masuoka in the women's pole vault (tied, 3.69 meters/12-feet-1¼).
- SEVENTH PLACE – Moore in the men's 60 hurdles (9.09 seconds), junior Ethan Tabor in the men's triple jump (13.17 meters/43-feet-2½), Davis in the women's 200 dash (25.79 seconds), and sophomore McKenna Woodruff in the women's 800 run (2:19.00)
- EIGHTH PLACE – Shifflet in the men's 60 hurdles (9.61 seconds), senior Steven Kapes in the men's 3,000 run (8:35.55), Dennis in the women's 200 dash (25.91 seconds), senior Elizabeth Seyfang in the women's shot put (13.51 meters/44-feet-4), and junior Erin Sievers in the women's pole vault (3.69 meters/12-feet-1¼, new nationals provisional mark).
- After the meet, Banks earned Men's Track Athlete of the Meet honors, and Koch was named co-Men's Field Athlete of the Meet.
