Eagle Harriers Compete At Lewis Crossover

On Saturday (Oct. 8), Ashland University's cross country teams ran in their next-to-last regular-season races of 2022 at the Lewis Crossover.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• On the men's side, in the 8K race, the Eagles placed 17^th of 19 teams with 507 team points. Colorado Christian won (47 points), followed by Illinois Springfield (80) and Western Washington (82).
• Sophomore Colton Pinkerton led the AU men by crossing the finish line in 25:41.28 and placing 91^st. Senior Nick Ponzi turned in a PR of almost 36 seconds at 25:51.82, and placed 103^rd.
• Freshman Michael Snopik (147^th, 26:45.39), junior Konnor Ray (168^th, 27:08.92) and freshman Braeden Geist (190^th, 27:54.48) rounded out the top five for the Eagle men.
• In the women's 6K, Ashland placed 19^th out of 20 teams with 576 team points. Colorado Christian was the team winner on the women's side as well (68 points), followed by Minnesota Duluth (92) and Winona State (116).
• In her first collegiate 6K, junior McKenna Woodruff finished in 24:58.23 and in 132^nd place, while senior Emma Hinkle was 135^th in 25:01.91. Rounding out the top five for the AU women were three freshmen – Analeise Artino (155^th, 25:45.89), Brenna Heinzerling (156^th, 25:46.68), and Haley Heitz (159^th, 26:06.30).
