On Saturday (Sept. 18) at the first round of the Ohio Dominican Champions of Women's Golf in Columbus, Ohio, Ashland University's women's golf team is in eighth place in the 10-team event.
The tournament is the Eagles' first outing of the non-championship fall portion of the 2021-22 schedule.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Freshman Emma Conway, in her first collegiate round, is in a tie for 17th place individually after carding an 81. She birdied holes No. 5 and 17.
- Sophomore Maddy Klinger is tied for 31st after a round of 84 (birdie on No. 16), while senior Sophia Lowe is tied for 40th after an 86.
- Both freshman Samantha Webb and sophomore Mailiis Simovart are tied for 45th with rounds of 88.
- Playing as an individual, freshman Lindsay Mayo is tied for 26th following a round of 83 (birdies on No. 2 and 13).
- In the team standings, Ashland's round of 339 is 35 shots behind first-place Tiffin (304). Davenport is second (307), while the host Panthers are third (319). Individually, Davenport's Natalie Samdal is the first-round leader with a 1-over-par 71.
