In the second and final round of the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 31), to end the non-championship fall portion of 2021-22, Ashland University's women's golf team finished third in the six-team field.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Eagle women shaved 18 strokes off their Day 1 total, ending at 339-321—660. Maryville was the team medalist (329-311—640), followed by McKendree (323-319—642).
- Freshmen Grace Grant (85-77—162) and Emma Conway (83-79—162) and senior Sophia Lowe (82-80—162) all were the top finishers for AU, each finishing in a tie for eighth place individually.
- Another freshman, Samantha Webb, was 18th (89-85—174), while sophomore Maddy Klinger was 19th (89-86—175).
- Playing as individuals for the Eagles were sophomore Mailiis Simovart (26th, 90-92—182), sophomore Paige Lawson (29th, 94-91—185) and freshman Lindsay Mayo (30th, 93-93—186).
- Earning the individual medalist title on the weekend was Ssu Tung Lai of Maryville (79-76—155).
