Eagles Conclude Florida Play With 40-Stroke Improvement

Playing in the second and final round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday (March 10) in Daytona Beach, Fla., Ashland University's women's golf team showed a 40-stroke upgrade from its first-round total.

The Eagles ended the trip at 376-336—712. Junior Sophie Hemleben jumped 13 spots to finish in the tie for 27th place individually, carding 85-76—161, while senior Logan Pottorf was tied for 57th at 92-84—176.

Senior Megan Pollock was 100-88—188 and was 71st, sophomore Sophia Lowe ended 103-88—191 and was 74th, and senior Claire Coughenour was 99-95—194 and placed 80th.

Fairleigh Dickinson was the team titlist at 301-291—592, and FDU's Tomita Arejola was the individual champion at 2-over-par 75-70—145.

Ashland's women will have a quick turnaround coming back up north, as they will play in the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (March 14-15).
